I never really thought that physical injury was something to worry about “on the job” as a stay at home mom. My son has headbutted me in the nose more times than I can count and I’ve always come away just fine. Sure, it would hurt for a few minutes, but then the incident would be forgotten.
Well, not today. My 14 month old daughter broke my nose with her head. Yep, it’s actually broken. Just a tiny fracture, but I still can’t believe she actually broke my nose! She was happily bouncing in my lap. She looked up at her daddy and then came flying back at me. Head met nose, Mama gasped, baby cried, Mama cried. I heard it crack, ick.
My husband insisted on taking me to the ER where I was informed after two hours that I had a small fracture and there was nothing they could do. I currently have a slightly swollen nose with a bruise. This’ll be a fun story to tell Sis when she gets older. The things we go through for our children!
I betcha wouldn’t believe there was a ninja baby behind this adorable smile?
In other news around here, I picked the one and only piece of produce that I was able to grow this year. It’s very strange. I had all these great intentions to grow some tomatoes and bell peppers. The hubby and I planted them in the spring.
I will admit that I didn’t take care of the plants like I wanted to, but they grew to be pretty big plants. The only problem was that there was never a tomato or pepper! Well, not until the end of November. Very, very strange.
Here it is. It was pretty small and pretty bitter.
