Whew. This blog has been quiet! It was never my intentions to leave the blog so quiet for so long, but life happens, right? I am almost in my second trimester, but I am still battling nausea at least every other day or so. I have also noticed I’m dealing with a lot more fatigue a lot earlier on than in my past pregnancies. I’m trying my best to eat as healthfully as possible and take care of myself!
I wanted to give you guys a little peek at our “homestead.” Obviously, we are no where near completely supporting ourselves with this place, but we are doing a few things here and there to make ourselves more self-sufficient. I took some pictures of what we have going on outside, so here goes!
Here is a picture of Pretty Boy, our rooster and a couple of his ladies.
Here are our ducks. These birds are the messiest birds I have ever seen. It’s definitely time to put down some fresh straw in the run! As of right now, they are hanging out in the chicken run, but soon we will have an enclosure for them so they can do their own thing.
Here we have a few of our laying hens. As you can see on the red in the back, Pretty Boy likes to pick on them. Poor thing gets her feathers ripped out.
One of my sad raised beds. this one has potatoes and onions. Unfortunately I have not been tending to it and the kids like to toss rocks into it. We will see if we get anything!
So that’s about all we have going on right now. I haven’t spent nearly as much time outside getting things in order as I’d hoped, but that’s okay. We just moved into this place and we have years to do something with it!
