Mr. Simple had drill this weekend, so we had a pretty laid back weekend. We spent the day at home on Saturday, and then we spent Sunday with my parents. My kids have been experimenting with their own personal style here lately.
We have Bug who told me he was a “buggy head.”
Then we have Sis who has decided her bowls are now hats. She dumps out her food and puts the bowl on her head. Laughing she says, “hat, hat!” I should’ve taken a picture when she did this with yogurt!
I decided to bring back Menu Plan Monday to my blog. The holidays were the perfect time for me to slack up with my menu planning and I really need to get back into the swing of doing it. Menu planning is such a huge time and money saver.
It’s finally cold here in Arkansas. Last week temps were creeping toward the 70s! It was perfect for playing outside, but it totally felt like spring rather than winter. Since the high is 50 today (and yes, I’m cold!), I’m planning some nice soups and stews for the week.
Monday – Breakfast for dinner. Pancakes with real maple syrup and fruit smoothies
Tuesday – Chicken tortilla soup
Wednesday – Chili and cornbread
Thursday – leftovers
Friday – homemade lasagna and salad
Saturday – Beef stew and rolls
Breakfasts are pretty simple around here. I like oats with fruit and maple syrup. I cook a lot of eggs and make fruit smoothies, too! For lunch I usually make something simple like a wrap with fruit on the side or leftovers.
