Are you struggling to teach your kids how to properly clean the bathroom? Maybe you’re having a hard time remembering what specific tasks need to be done when you’re cleaning the bathroom. Whether you’re doing a deep cleaning or a regular cleaning, there is a certain order that makes bathroom cleaning easier and having a simple bathroom cleaning checklist will ensure that everything gets cleaned.

Printable Bathroom Checklist

This printable bathroom checklist is in a lovely blue gradient color and includes basic instruction to ensure that your bathroom gets a good cleaning. Kids or adults can use the checklist to make sure that no important tasks are missed. Whenever I use printable bathroom cleaning checklists, I simply print them out, laminate them, and keep them in the bathroom taped to the back of a cabinet door. This way the instructions for cleaning the bathroom are right there when needed.

Another option is to keep the printable checklist in a cleaning caddy. Cleaning checklists are a great idea to help any one who needs a bit of direction with cleaning tasks. They make household chores just a little bit easier.

    Bathroom Cleaning Schedule

The bathroom definitely needs to be cleaned on regular intervals. For heavily trafficked bathrooms, like a kids’ bathroom, cleaning can happen daily. Most of the tasks listed on the cleaning checklist can act as a weekly checklist for most families. At the very least, the bathroom should be getting cleaned on a weekly basis.

How To Get a Clean Bathroom

Figuring out a good bathroom cleaning routine will go a long way in helping you get a clean bathroom. Here’s a quick run down of a bathroom cleaning routine.

The first step is to gather your cleaning supplies. You can use homemade recipes for cleaning, and you can also use cleaning supplies you purchase. You’ll want to make sure you have a glass cleaner, a disinfectant spray, toilet bowl cleaner and a toilet brush, an all purpose cleaner, a microfiber cloth, and something to help you do a good scrubbing on your bathtub.

I also like to use paper towels when I’m cleaning the toilet, toilet seat, and the bathroom floor around the toilet. I have boys, so paper towels are really a must!

Always start at the top of your bathroom when you’re cleaning and work your way down. I like to spray the bathtub down and let the cleaner sit to break down the soap scum while I’m cleaning the other areas of the bathroom. When cleaning toilets I let the toilet bowl cleaner sit a while before scrubbing, too.

If you’re doing a deep clean, don’t forget to clean those light fixtures and air vents!  I clean these during my zone cleaning and also wash the shower curtain in the washing machine during this time.

Favorite Cleaning Products for the Bathroom

I like to use cleaning products that are non toxic or at least less toxic than many traditional bathroom cleaners. I love using Barkeeper’s Friend for hard water stains. I’m also a big fan of Tub and Tile cleaner, which I get in my Wellness box.

For disinfecting, I’ve started using Scentiva. It’s not a “non-toxic” cleaner, but after our battle with strep this past winter, it’s what seems to have helped stop the passing back and forth of the germs.
