One of my favorite things to teach my preschoolers is colors! Preschoolers are generally very interested in learning about colors. They are so observant and want to know what everything is! A preschool book list would not be complete without children’s books about colors. All of these books are fun for helping your child learn all of his colors!

This is our favorite book for learning colors. Learn animals and colors at the same time. This book is also great for retelling the story, too!
See what happens when three white mice find three jars of paint. The colors in this book are bold and beautiful and will keep your child engaged.
This is one of my favorite books from my childhood. This book will introduce your child to color concepts and color mixing.
Pete the Cat, I Love My White Shoes
Find out what happens to Pete’s white shoes as he walks along and steps in different colored foods. This book is great for engaging young children.
Red is a Dragon, A Book of Colors
A young girl finds a rainbow of colors in her everyday life in this tale.
This is a great story about a color changing chameleon who wants a color all his own. He eventually learns that companionship is more important than his color.
This book is told in rhyme about Violet who has a problem. When she gets advice from an unlikely source, she learns how she and her rainbow friends can brighten everyone else’s day!
This book is great for young children learning their colors. Follow Cat as he explores the world around him and learns new colors.
