Who else gets excited about Easter? Easter is such a beautiful holiday as a Christian and I love to take this time of year to teach my kids about the Resurrection story. This year I am planning an Easter preschool theme for my preschoolers and thought I would add this  printable Easter scavenger hunt to our studies. Not only does it send the kids on a journey to discover the Resurrection story, but we also get to read scripture together!

Resurrection Eggs Scavenger Hunt

Have you ever heard of Resurrection eggs? Every time we have done them, we would find a small token in each egg with a note from scripture to let us know which part of the Lord’s crucifixion and resurrection it represented. With this scavenger hunt, you don’t have to use any eggs.

Simply print an Easter scavenger hunt page for each child, give them instructions to find one item to represent each thing on the sheet, and then when everyone comes back together have them share what they’ve found and then read the scripture cards together.

Easter Scavenger Hunt for Church

You could do this scavenger hunt with children from your church, except you may need to plant things around the room for them to find. Get creative! Leaves for the palm branches, crackers for the bread, tissues for the linen, etc.

You could also use the scripture card inside traditional Resurrection eggs if you’d rather.

You could also do a reverse scavenger hunt by reading the scripture cards and then having the children find the item they believe is represented by the scripture. This would work well for older children already familiar with the Resurrection story.

What are the 12 Resurrection eggs?
