I wanted to take the time to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year! The past year has been a big one in terms of change for my family, and we are finally finding somewhat of a normal routine.
Christmas finds me extremely grateful this year. I’m so grateful that God pulled us out of the mire and washed away our fears and put us back on our feet. I’m thankful for the circumstances that led me to start this blog back in September. I have already met some wonderful people and only hope that as time goes by I will have the opportunity to connect with more homemakers and mothers through this blog and the blogs of others.
Mr. Simple and I just celebrated our fourth anniversary and I am so proud of that. Through tough times we have held onto each other. I love him so much and I am so thankful that God brought us together and made him the father of our children.
This will most likely be my last post of the year. I’m going to take some time to gather ideas and begin assembling some series for Simple Living Mama. I’m still really trying to decide how I want to lay out posts here on this blog, and I’m still trying to learn how to make the blog grow. Oh, and figure out a posting schedule so there’s actually new content here to read on a regular basis!
So far in 2012 you will see me writing about:
- A series on decluttering/purging areas of your home
- A series on the Lineage of Grace series by Francine Rivers
- Updates on our baby steps to real food
- Small home improvement projects and saving money on them
I’m also excited to be a new contributing writer for Nicki at Christian Mommy Blogger, so you will occasionally see me posting at her site!
Of course, there will be posts on other topics, too!
I really hope you all had a very blessed Christmas and a happy New Year!

I love Francine Rivers’ books. Have you read The Mark of the Lion series? It’s fantastic 😉 🙂 I”m also on a journey to eating real food 🙂 Have a Happy New Year 🙂 Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather 🙂
