The kitchen sink is one area that can easily get overwhelmed with clutter. I know I have woken up more times than I can count and been disappointed that there is a mess all around my sink. If the dishes don’t get done, well, that’s a big problem. Also, all of the things we use to clean can cause some major clutter issues, too. I’ve put together my best tips to help you tame all the kitchen sink clutter.

5 Tips for Cleaning Up the Kitchen Sink Clutter

Baskets

basket of dish cloths

My biggest tip is to make use of baskets by your kitchen sink. I like to keep my Scotch-Brite® Scrubbing Dish Cloths in this little basket, along with my dish soap and my drains for my sink. I keep it nicely beside the sink, and everything stays corralled in one spot!

Under Sink Storage

Make use of your under sink storage. If it’s not something I use every time I wash dishes, it goes under the sink. I have two big storage baskets under my sink to hold supplies. All of my cleaners and other miscellaneous cleaning tools are under the sink. Out of sight so my kitchen counter doesn’t get too cluttered.

Do the Dishes Promptly

A sink full of dirty dishes is obviously going to create clutter. Do the dishes after every meal, and you won’t have to worry about waking up to an overflowing sink of dirty dishes.

clean up time

I love using my new Scotch-Brite® Scrubbing Dish Cloth. It’s so neat because it has scrubbing dots on one side and regular dish cloth material on the other. The dish cloth really scrubs all of those bits of food off of your dishes. The best part is that it can be reused just like a regular dish cloth.

You can find the Scotch-Brite® Scrubbing Dish Cloths at Kroger in the cleaning aisle. They are available in 2-packs in the colors tan, mint, navy, and grey. You can get $1 off a 1 pack and $1.50 off a 2 pack of the Scotch-Brite® Scrubbing Dish Cloths available in store on clips strips with the product display.

Make the Sink Shine

Another trick for cleaning up the kitchen sink area is making it shine. You can do this very easily.

Just sprinkle some baking soda all over your sink.
