November Homeschool Morning Basket

We’re over a week into November and I thought it was probably time I shared our Thanksgiving Morning Basket with you! I’ve talked a lot about how much I love our homeschool morning basket, and I still feel the same way even though I continue to make changes to how we do morning time. One thing I have learned about homeschooling is that it is ok to adjust and try different things. 

Thanksgiving Homeschool Morning Basket

We are still using our morning time menus. I really like this layout. We are taking a break from the new session in The Homeschool Garden, but since we have the membership, we are revisiting the Thankful session from last year and pulling out some of the art projects that we didn’t get to do. 

I am still using Happy Hymnody for our hymn and we are singing “We Gather Together.”

I decided this month to pull in from various resources I received through the Intentional Homeschooling bundle. Over the course of the next few months we will be learning about a new saint each month using The Precious People Saints study. Our saint this month is Saint Francis.

Here’s another look at a printable from the Precious People study. Not pictured is our composer study. We are learning about Vivaldi through the Intentional Homeschool course.

I decided to use a folksong from Ambleside Online this month, so I typed “The Foolish Boy” myself. 

I wanted to prolong our study of Christina Rossetti, so I checked out this fairy book from our library to read “Goblin Market” during one of our teatimes. 

The rest of our morning basket is focused on Thanksgiving books. These scholastic books, “Sarah Morton’s Day” and “Samuel Eaton’s Day,” are two of my favorites!

The Very First Thanksgiving Day is another fun book to read to the kids, as well as The Thanksgiving Story.

The Squirrels’ Thanksgiving is another family favorite.

We always really enjoy A Turkey for Thanksgiving.

Our family read aloud is A Cry from Egypt. We are also reading through Exodus in the Bible during our morning time. I’ve kept our prayers the same this month. We are still saying The Apostle’s Creed and The Lord’s Prayer.
