Now that my hubby is home after a long work week, I thought I would write a little bit more about who I am and what my blog is all about for those of you who may be hopping over here from Women Living Well. The first post I wrote was a little hurried because I was trying to write it with my baby sleeping on my chest.
My name is Joanie. I’m a Christian, a wife, a very busy mama, and a homemaker. I dreamed of being a homemaker since I was a little girl, and although our society may not always value women who choose to stay at home, I’m learning more and more just how important this career is. I’m interested in a lot of things, and that will be reflected on my blog.
After a long hiatus from church where my extended family was extremely hurt, I’m finally coming back to God and my Bible. I’ve been reading Bible stories to my children for quite a while now, but I’ve started reading a little every morning on my own. I’m inspired by so many other bloggers to live a life that glorifies that Lord. I crave it.
My husband whom I call Mr. Simple here, is a wonderful man. We’ve had our ups and downs and we are both learning how to be the spouses that God wants us to be. Our marriage has never been better. He is an Army reservist, a college student, and he just started working a full-time job to support our family. I’m very proud of him and even more in love with him.

Bug is the perfect combination of Mr. Simple and I. He is a very determined little boy and he keeps us all laughing with his jokes and fun sense of humor. He loves to play with his cars and Thomas the Train. I hope he will grow up to be a good husband and father and will always follow his dreams.
Sis is my firecracker baby girl. She just turned one and she has a ton of spunk. She arrived in this world after a super-short labor and easy delivery. Already, she is climbing furniture, saying several words, and just trying to keep up with her big brother. My hope is to teach her to know what true beauty is.
The goal of this blog is to encourage other women, especially homemakers to live a simpler life. I also love to learn from other homemakers and I like to discover I’m not alone in actually LOVING my career at home. Here, you’ll find topics on having the best marriage you can, raising children, and taking care of the home including cooking, cleaning, and money managing. I’m also very interested in doing things as naturally as possible. I cloth diaper (most of the time), clean with few chemicals, raise chickens in my backyard, and right now I’m reading a lot about “real food” in the hopes of learning how to feed my family the best food possible. I’m also contemplating homeschooling my kids, and I’m doing a little bit of homeschool preschool right now.
My blog here is still very new, and I have a ton of ideas for posts for the near future. If you stop by, please say hello and I will visit your blog, too!

I REALLY LOVE your blog!! I hope and pray that you may one day accomplish your goal of “Simple Living”
Would you share with me how you and your husband met….and your faith? Thanks sooooo much! =)
Love and Prayers, Leah
Hi Leah! Thank you so much for stopping by and your kind words! You can read more about how my husband and I met at this link http://youngwifesguide.com/share-your-story-joanie/ where I shared our love story.
As for my faith, I am a Christian. I believe that Jesus Christ is my savior and I am a child of God. I believe the Bible is truth. I grew up in a non-denominational church and am currently looking for a new church home.
Thanks again so much for stopping by! God bless!
