When we moved into our new home, I knew I wanted to use farmhouse decor in different areas of the house. I’ve loved the farmhouse style since before it was cool, but now there are so many things available that decorating this way is super easy. Since decorating an entry can be fairly easy, I scored local stores for farmhouse decor for my entryway table. Let’s take a peek at how I decorated it!
Farmhouse Decor for an Entryway Table
So, I had this simple, small bookshelf from Walmart that we bought several years ago. I kind of liked the original wood look, so decided not to paint it. I then had to come up with what to place on it!
I started by pulling out some old books that we already own. These books belong to my husband. The book on the bottom is an old hymnal. I just love the look of these books, and the fact that they have been passed down through the family is just icing on the cake.
The small lantern on top was a farmhouse find from Hobby Lobby. This Victorian lantern is similar. I haven’t put anything in it yet, but a flameless candle or any other small decoration would look nice in it.
I bought this sign at Hobby Lobby a couple of years ago and still love it.
My sister in law paints wine bottles, so I decided to use this one on our table. I thought it matched the “It is well with my soul” sign pretty well.
Inside the wine bottle I placed a stem of eucalyptus and a stem of cotton. The cotton just screams farmhouse to me.
My oldest son picked out this sign at Hobby Lobby. I only buy my decor at Hobby Lobby when I can get it 40-50% off. I decided it would look good between my books to sort of break them up.
On the second shelf I placed some of my favorite classic books and novels. Since the covers were all contrasting colors, I turned some of them around so only the pages showed. I felt that gave the shelf a more uniform look.
On top of a couple of the books I placed my milk glass goblets.
I adore milk glass. My Nana found this milk glass fruit bowl at a thrift store. It looks great on the shelf as long as I can keep the kids away from it!
On the bottom shelf I placed even more of my favorite books. I have a degree in English literature and love Shakespeare, so I have some of my Shakespeare books from college here. I also have the In Grandma’s Attic series that I’ve loved reading to the kids, and my Nancy Drew series.
My favorite piece is this galvanized sign that definitely states the mantra of our home. I had my husband hang it on the wall for me.
And for now that’s it! I love my super simple farmhouse entryway bookshelf. I actually have two bookshelves in my entryway. You can see the other one in my Farmhouse Easter & Spring Decor Tour!
