Can I just share a motherhood confession with you all right now? When my babies begin feeding themselves, I cringe a little. The mess gets to me. I so badly want to spoon feed them myself and avoid the smears of food on the high chair tray, the bits of food all over the floor, and worst of all, the pieces that inevitably end up all over my toddler’s hair. My kids are independent and prefer to feed themselves. I usually immediately take my tot to the bath after meal-time. When we are out-and-about, it is important to me that my little tots have mess-free toddler snacks. I mean, I can’t run them to the bath after a play date in the park.

Low Mess Snacks for Kids
Every time we load up in the Mini Bus of Adventure aka, my minivan, I make sure to have a wholesome snack and a sippy cup of water ready for my toddler.

We recently discovered Nestle Lil’ Beanies and I am loving how easy, and mess-free they are when we go out. Lil’ Beanies is a brand new product now available at Walmart for only $1.86 a can! They come in two flavors, broccoli cheddar and original. Our kids have eaten Lil’ Crunchies in the past. This product is very similar, but instead of corn flour it is made with navy beans and rice flour. One serving contains 2g of protein and 1g of fiber. They are made with no GMOs or preservatives for the health-conscious mamas.

Not only are they not messy, but they are yummy and the perfect size for chubby little fingers!
What is an appropriate snack for a two year old?
Small snacks that can be easily chewed and picked up with two fingers are the best snacks for your two year old!
In a pinch, the canister is the perfect distraction in the car seat. My little one loves to shake it up while I’m driving down the road!

Lil’ Beanies pass the toddler taste test in my house!
