26-28 Week Pregnancy Update

As of this past Sunday, I am now 28 weeks pregnant with our fourth baby. I am incredibly thankful for this little boy growing and getting strong inside of me.

I had my 28 week appointment yesterday. I was pretty disappointed in my weight gain, but I always gain a lot with my pregnancies, so it is not a surprise. I’ve been eating pretty much whatever I want and the only exercise I get is chasing the kids around. The doctor says I am not swelling, so I guess my body just likes to pack on the fat for breastfeeding. I do typically lose the massive amount I gain within a year.

Baby Isaac is measuring big, which is not a surprise. All of my babies have been born bigger than average. I would not be surprised if he rivals Bug’s weight of 9 lbs. 2 oz. at 38.5 weeks.

Now that I am entering my third trimester, I am going to start drinking more pregnancy tea and sitting on my exercise ball. I’ve had a lot of SI joint pain and just general aches and pains. The leg cramps have also set in. I am usually extremely uncomfortable in the evenings, which makes it difficult to tidy the house after the kids go to bed.

My blood type is A-, so I have to get a Rhogam shot at 28 weeks. Luckily, all three of my babies have also had negative blood types, so I never needed one after their births. I have also had those darn shots when I fell and broke my foot during my pregnancy with my oldest and also when I had my miscarriage, so I’ve had my fair share of those shots. It’s a huge ordeal going to the hospital, getting my blood drawn, waiting on the results, finally getting the shot, and then being monitored for a bit before they let me leave. Of course, if this baby does happen to have a positive blood type like his daddy it’s worth it.

At 26 weeks we had family/maternity pictures taken. Here’s a little peek at a few!

  1. Hey I think we are due about the same time, I’m Jan. 29th and this is my 3rd baby. I’m glad you are doing well, I’m going to look into the pregnancy tea. I keep thinking it’ll make the baby come before it’s time and that’s scary haha. I’m praying this baby doesn’t have the health issues of my other kids (allergies, eczema). I like your site I think I’ll stick around a while. Lord-willing this time of uncomfortable pains will go quickly. 🙂

    1. Hi, Rose! We are due around the same time. My little boy is due February 1st! The pregnancy tea is awesome! I’ve used it with my previous two pregnancies with no issues. My second child has eczema, so I understand. Glad to have you around!
