With the arrival of our new baby next month, we are taking it easy with our homeschool morning basket during this season. I’m trying very hard to keep school as simple as possible. I’m only adding in a few projects here and there and keeping our morning time together around the table short and sweet. Today I’m going to show you some Autumn homeschool morning basket ideas!

Autumn Homeschool Morning Time

For our fall homeschool morning time, we are using Autumn Homeschool morning time plans. We love The Homeschool Garden because it makes morning time so easy. This set includes four weeks of morning time plans and you do get an artist, a composer, copywork, poetry, hymn and folksong study, handicraft, art lesson, and nature study.

We are using My Father’s World Rome to the Reformation for our composer study this year and we are currently learning about Hadyn. I decided to cut out the artist study this time around since we are doing God and the History of Art.

Poetry

We will be reading two poems from Robert Frost, “The Road Not Taken” and “The Wood-pile.”

Copywork

My oldest is doing copywork from THG. He is working on cursive selections from Robert Frost.

Hymn and Folksong

Our hymn is “His Eye is on the Sparrow” and our folksong is “Aura Lee.”

Tea Time

There are two tea time ideas included in these plans. There’s a yummy recipe for Cookie Dough Pumpkin Pops and a story about Raggedy Ann.

Art Lesson

I just adore the art lessons included in these plans. We are going to do an apple orchard acrylic painting!

Nature Study

We are studying all about fall flora and fauna. I’m combining the nature study cards from THG with the way we include nature study in our homeschool. I have to admit that fall nature study is my favorite type of nature study to do! I love the weather, I love the colors, and I love all of the fun animals!

Fall Themed Homeschool Morning Basket

Our morning basket is holding many of the books we enjoy reading during this time of year. Right now I’m not reading any of the books on a loop schedule simply because I do not have time. We are reading The Bronze Bow aloud together as our primary book that goes along with MFW, but I have several picture books, including some of our favorite pumpkin books for preschoolers.
