Over the years we have owned a few play kitchens. The first play kitchen we had was a wonderful Step 2 kitchen that was given to us. It held up fairly well, but the oven door didn’t work anymore and we ended up not taking it with us when we moved the last time. Last year, I purchased a very cheap play kitchen, but found out it’s just not big enough to be enjoyable at all, so this Christmas I really wanted to get my three year old daughter a quality play kitchen. Best Kids’ Play Kitchen Sets

When determining which play kitchens are the best, I was looking for a few things. The first thing I looked for in a play kitchen was durability. I wanted to purchase something that would last. I was also looking for function. My daughter likes to pretend to bake, so I wanted an oven that was big enough to hold her small baking sheet. Another thing I was looking for in a play kitchen was the size. I wanted it to be large enough for a preschooler to use it, but small enough to comfortably fit in a corner of my dining room.

This play kitchen is cute and comes with a ton of accessories including dishes, utensils, and play food. Another neat feature is the built in pet food dishes. A stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, and sink create all of the features a child could want in a play kitchen! The price is below $100 and the size will last your child through preschool.

Cons: Reviewers complained about the assembly. You will assemble everything including the accessories. It’s also up to you to apply the decals.

Kidkraft Vintage Kitchen in Pink

This kitchen is CUTE! It was definitely on my list of kitchens because I love the vintage look of it. All of the knobs click and turn and the sink removes for easy clean up. It also comes with a cordless phone and plenty of storage space for play food. Reviewers say the quality of the wood is excellent and the size is on par with most play kitchens.

Cons: Once again, the assembly can be a beast, so be prepared to set aside some time for this one.

Step2 Sweet Baker’s Kitchen

Another super sweet kitchen under $100 that I almost purchased simply because I love the attached high chair. There’s plenty of molded in storage space and a place to store dishes, as well. The colors are also very appealing and the stovetop is electronic.

Cons: The only con from reviewers is that the holes for the screws are not pre-drilled. Use a drill to assemble this kitchen!

Best Wooden Play Kitchens

Kidkraft Ultimate Corner Play Kitchen

If you have $190 to spend on a play kitchen, this one is amazing! Not only does it come with a fridge with an icemaker, a stove, sink, microwave, but also a washing machine! How cute! I’m also a fan of the neutral colors that would make this kitchen look nice in a main area in the home. Most of the reviews for this kitchen are excellent.

Cons: Once again, a recurring theme with these play kitchens is they take a few hours to assemble.

KidKraft Farm to Table Play Kitchen

How cute is this farm to table kitchen with the cute farmhouse sink? It comes with an 18 piece accessory and food play set, an ice maker with pretend ice cubes, and lights and sounds on the burner. It’s adorable!

Cons: As with the other kitchens, you will have to set aside time to assemble this kitchen if giving as a gift!

Our Play Kitchen Choice

KidKraft Grand Gourmet Corner Kitchen

I settled on this play kitchen because of all of the features and the size. I didn’t want one that was too tall because it is going to go in a corner behind my couch. I love the fridge/freezer combo, the accessories that are included, and the addition of a washing machine so my daughter can pretend to wash clothes. The counter space also sold me on this kitchen.

Cons: Assembly, some reviewers said their boxes arrived damaged. Our box did not come damaged.
