It’s back to school time, and that means lots of planning for us moms! One of the things we are almost always in charge of is making sure our kids meals and snacks are planned out. I needed an easy solution for after school snacks, or in our case after homeschool snacks. I got tired of the kids rifling through the cabinets looking for something to eat, so I created a simple DIY after school snack station!

DIY After School Snack Station
I wanted to set up our snack station in a central location, so I chose my kitchen counter. I decided to use a double fruit basket to hold all of our snacks because I already had it on hand and it would contain the items perfectly.

To the top of the fruit basket I added fresh fruit choices. In this case it was bananas and mandarin oranges.

In the bottom portion of the fruit basket I added RITZ Filled Sandwich Crackers and applesauce cups.

The kids know they are allowed to grab one pack of crackers and either one piece of fruit OR one applesauce cup after we finish school for the day.

I found my RITZ Filled Sandwich Crackers at my local Kroger in the family snacks aisle. Find your local Kroger/Kroger Family of Stores to get your RITZ crackers.
There are two options. You can get peanut butter filled sandwich crackers or cheese filled sandwich crackers. Our favorite is the peanut butter!

Creating a diy snack station in your home requires a little prep work, but it helps so much when the kids know which snacks they can grab during snack time.
If you don’t have an extra fruit basket hanging around, you can use any small bins or baskets you do have. Even set one up in your fridge for perishable snacks!
