I’ve had a problem for some time. Actually, it’s a problem I’ve had my whole life: dry lips! I have suffered from dry, peeling lips for as long as I can remember. It got particularly bad during my last pregnancy. On top of my dry lips, winter here has been brutal and the whole family is suffering from dry skin. My daughter also has eczema that has been exasperated by the dryness from the heater. I was so excited to get the opportunity to review Emu Oil and Pure Lanolin Lip Balm from Koru Naturals. Finally, a natural solution to our skin issues!

What is Koru Naturals?

Koru Naturals is a company based on the New Zealand idea that using natural products on your body is best. The symbol for Koru Naturals is the koru, which is actually the Maori name given to the newborn, unfurled fern. I love that it symbolizes new life, growth, strength, and peace. That is a company I can stand behind! While I got to review their emu oil and lanolin lip balm, they also offer several other products including koolpurrie restoring balm and manuka oil and honey shampoo and conditioner.

All About the Emu Oil

Koru Naturals Review

Before this review, I did not know anything about emu oil. I learned that this oil is the traditional oil of the Australian Aborigines. Koru Naturals emu oil is refined and contains only all natural ingredients. I was surprised to learn how good this oil is for your skin and hair. It contains essential acids Omega 3 and 6, and bonus, it does not smell at all!

When I poured the emu oil on my hand, it was a bit thin and a milky white color. Just a little bit of oil goes a long way, so a couple of drops is plenty. I first used the oil on the ends of my hair. After washing it, I would put a few drops of emu oil in the palm of my hand and rub my hands together just a bit before running it through the ends of my hair. I also discovered that I could use the emu oil as a cuticle oil. I think that was my favorite use. The skin around my nails gets very dry. With just one application of the emu oil I could tell a difference.

My daughter has developed dry skin around her eyes. I think it’s mostly because of her eczema. I have to be careful what I put on her face, but I decided to try the emu oil. I rubbed just a dab under each eye and it did help wonderfully and did not irritate her. We also discovered the emu oil is great for chapped hands!

The 2 oz. bottle of emu oil sells for $9.85. Remember, a little goes a long way so even a small bottle can last you a good while.

All About the Pure Lanolin Lip Balms

Koru Naturals Review

Let’s talk about the lip balms. As I mentioned earlier, I have suffered from dry lips most of my life. They would get so dry they would actually peel. The dryness was particularly bad during my last pregnancy, when I began this review. I received four tubes of the pure lanolin lip balm and the price for that is $9.80. The lip balm is wind, sun, and water resistant.

The biggest surprise for me was the texture of the lip balm. It is very waxy, so it is easy to smear way too much on your lips if you aren’t careful. The texture bothered all of the other members of my family, but once I figured out just how much to apply it didn’t bother me. I would just put a dab on my lips and smear it on with my finger. The weird texture was really worth it. My lips don’t peel anymore! Also, because the lanolin lip balm is pretty thick, I only need to apply it once or twice a day. I love how silky soft my lips are now!

The emu oil and pure lanolin lip balm are perfect products for your whole family. I am so happy I got the chance to review them and will definitely keep using them!
