There’s nothing quite like having a clean home. As a busy mom of seven, having a clean house takes a lot of strategic planning on my part. I love to teach other moms how to keep a clean house with my zone cleaning routine, but sometimes you need a good, ol’ checklist to help you stay on track.
Today I’d love to dive more into the weekly cleaning routine and show you how easy it is to keep track of your daily tasks and weekly chores with a free weekly cleaning schedule printable.
I design my free printable cleaning checklists so that you can break down your household chores into manageable tasks. There are certain weekly tasks that I complete on specific days, there are daily tasks I complete each and every day, and there are some chores I prefer to do on a monthly basis.

Weekly Cleaning Checklist
Let’s talk about what to include on your weekly cleaning checklist. If you follow my monthly cleaning calendar then you know that weekly cleaning tasks are assigned to each day. One day we dust, one day we do mirrors and glass, one day we mop, one day we vacuum, and one day we deep clean the bathrooms. This cleaning routine has always worked well for me.
I also deep clean with my zone cleaning. So each week you would work on a new area of your home to deep clean. You can choose to do all of your zone cleaning tasks on one day of the week, or you can split the different tasks for that particular zone throughout the week. In this particular season that I am in, splitting the zone cleaning tasks up throughout the week works well for me.
I much prefer to focus on one room at a time when I am cleaning rather than try to do various tasks in different rooms with the hopes of coming back to the original room on that same day. I find that I never make it back to my starting point if I do that.
Daily Cleaning Schedule
There are definitely several tasks that have to get done on a daily basis. My daily chores consist of making my bed, doing a load of laundry or two, washing dishes, keeping the main living areas tidy, and doing any zone cleaning or weekly cleaning tasks I have scheduled for that day.
It’s definitely nice to have a cute little to-do list to write down this daily routine, and I’m definitely motivated by checklists!
Monthly Cleaning Schedule
Personally my monthly cleaning schedule is my zone cleaning schedule for deep cleaning. I work on one zone per week so I don’t have to do a lot of monthly cleaning.
That said, there are some tasks that need to get accomplished on a monthly basis. Things like changing the air filters, the refrigerator filters, and seasonal decluttering and decor switches. These home maintenance tasks are all items I would add to my monthly cleaning checklist for a tidy home.
If you’re looking for a realistic cleaning schedule, I think the way I have mine set up with simple tasks every day, weekly cleaning tasks, and a weekly rotation of zone cleaning tasks is the best way to keep your home clean in less time.
If you’re able to break your cleaning routine down into manageable chunks, you’re more likely to stick with it and you’ll find your home is much cleaner than if you had no cleaning routine at all!
