I’ve been homeschooling almost two years now and I know that there is still so much that I do not know about it! I’m a first generation homeschooler. I really had no idea I was going to homeschool my kids until my oldest son was about two years old. It can be kind of scary jumping off into this world, especially when you don’t know anyone else who does it. I needed a Homeschool 101 course! I am currently taking the Successful Homeschooling Made Easy Course by Successful Homeschooling Made Easy, and I am learning so much!

What is Successful Homeschooling Made Easy?

Successful Homeschooling Made Easy Review

It is a 26 week online course that can help new homeschoolers create a schedule, plan their homeschool curriculum, and even decide on extracurricular activities for their kids. Each lesson is delivered to your email inbox once a week. They are in PDF format, so they are very easy to download to your computer and print if you want. You can store the lessons in a binder or folder. I like that there is plenty of space on the pages to take notes and answer questions posed by Stephanie Walmsley, the author of the course.

Each lesson is full of practical advice, references to other good sources to help you homeschool, and interactive activities that you can put into place in your homeschool right off the bat.

How have I used this course?

I am currently on lesson 10 in the course, and I have to say I’ve gotten a lot of great information out of it. I have printed most lessons and stored them in the folder. My absolute favorite lesson was one that I did not expect to see in a learn to homeschool course. It was a lesson devoted to me! As a homeschool mom it can be so easy to focus solely on your children and completely forget about taking care of yourself. I loved having a lesson that made me really sit down and think about what I can do to take care of myself, and what I can do just for myself!

I have also enjoyed Stephanie’s approach to putting together a schedule. I’m always trying to tweak our schedule and figure out a system that works well for us. The lesson on housekeeping is invaluable. I have four kids ages six and under and it is a struggle to keep house and homeschool. I really enjoyed her advice to use housework as a homeschool lesson. I do wish I had learned how to properly maintain a home before I grew up and had one of my own!

My thoughts on Successful Homeschooling Made Easy

Successful Homeschooling Made Easy Review

I think if you’re fairly new to homeschooling, this course is excellent. I have struggled with really finding a groove, and I am putting a lot of the advice in this course into place in my home. If you are having a difficult time deciding on exactly what to teach in your homeschool, you will get a lot out of this course. I think if you’ve been homeschooling for years, this course may not be for you. If your children are older and you have this thing down it’s probably not the best course for you. I do definitely recommend this course for new homeschooling parents!
