If you’re in the midst of planning your preschool themes this year, you definitely want to include winter theme preschool activities and lesson plans for your preschool! In this post I’m going to show you my favorite winter activities and how I would make a preschool or kindergarten lesson plan based on this theme!

Winter themed preschool activities and lesson plans

Winter Preschool Lesson Plans

I follow the system in my How to Make Preschool Lesson Plans post. I always start with circle time and choose a song we can memorize together. Then, we work on literacy activities, fine motor skills which often include math games, arts and crafts and sensory activities, and of course, books! We do outside play, but that is largely unstructured.

Winter Songs and Poems for Preschoolers

It’s always fun to start circle time with a song or poem related to our preschool theme. It’s even more fun if we have finger plays to go along with the songs. Here are three of my favorites:

“Snowflakes, Snowflakes”

“Five Little Snowmen”

“The Mitten Song”
