For the past three or four years I have relied on Thriftbooks.com for finding great deals on books for our homeschool. I know many homeschool moms enjoy a good book haul, so I wanted to show you the books I scored from Thriftbooks for our study of ancient history. These books will be used in our book basket and some will be used for our family read alouds.

Homeschool Books for Ancient History
This is a completely unsponsored post, I just love Thriftbooks so much and want to share my love with you! If you don’t know what Thriftbooks is, it’s a website where you can buy used books for CHEAP! You will be purchasing from multiple sellers, so your books will likely come in separate shipments. If you spend at least $10, you get free shipping in the U.S. And if you’re a homeschool mama, you’re going to spend more than $10!
If you sign up for Reading Rewards and spend $30 using my link, we both get a free book!
Almost every book I have ever purchased from Thriftbooks has been good used quality. Some books have even been in like-new condition. You will be able to see what type of condition your chosen book is in before you purchase.
Let’s get to it!

For our study of the Ice Age I got, Life in the Great Ice Age by Michael and Beverly Oard.
Here are the books I picked up for our study of ancient Egypt:
- Top 10 Worst Things About Ancient Egypt You Wouldn’t Want To Know
- The Golden Goblet
- Hatshepsut, His Majesty, Herself

And here’s what I got for our study of ancient Greece:
- Top 10 Worst Things About Ancient Greece You Wouldn’t Want to Know
- DK Eyewitness Ancient Greece
- Classic Myths to Read Aloud
For read alouds I picked up:
- The BFG
- All of A Kind Family
Not pictured is Matilda, which I got for my daughter to read this summer. I do have more readers on my list to get from Thriftbooks, and there are also several still on my list that I will be purchasing from Amazon soon! I’ll be sure to show those off if you’re interested!
