First Day of School Coloring Pages

The first day of school is right around the corner! We really love to make the first day of homeschool special and I have a lot of first day of homeschool ideas here on the blog. My younger kids really love coloring pages. They are easy to print and fun to do. I decided to create some first day of school coloring pages to add to our first day of school fun!

First Day of School Coloring Pages

If you’re looking for some free coloring pages I have the cutest first day of school coloring sheets. These free printable coloring pages are designed for children in kindergarten through second grade.

The first fun coloring page can be used by kids of all ages. It features a simple schoolhouse with children in front and says, “First Day of School!” I’m planning to let my older kids who like to color use this page, too!

The other coloring pages are more grade level specific. We have three coloring pages that say, “Welcome to Kindergarten! Welcome to 1st Grade, and Welcome to 2nd Grade!”

I also have a place down below the coloring picture for students to write their names.

Whether you’re a homeschool mom teaching your own children, or a teacher at a public school, private school, or homeschool co-op, these coloring pages are a fun way to start a new school year!

Fine Motor Skills Progress Tracker

I am so excited to share these printable activities with you! I have created some cute coloring sheets that can be used on the first, 100th, and last days of school to track fine motor practice for your younger kids!

I think it would be adorable to set out the first day of school coloring page along with your child’s new school supplies and let your child color their best and write their name at the start of school.

You would then keep that page in a portfolio as a great keepsake.

On the 100th day of school, you would bring out the same picture but with the title, “How I colored on the 100th day of school” and then let your child color their best and write their name.

You would do the same on the last day of school and your child could then compare how much their coloring and handwriting has improved over the course of the school year!

I would use this activity with either kindergarten or first grade. I can’t wait to use it with my kids!
