- In my life this week…
Oh, this week has been a little bit stressful! Baby O is teething and is going through that phase where he will not let me put him down! Sis had a few accidents. She has been running into things, colliding with Bug, and being a typical kid! She also developed a runny nose/sore throat. This Mommy is tired!
- In our homeschool this week…
We started Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons. Bug is so excited to do his lessons every day and he is doing so well. I bought it for him at the beginning of the school year, but he had just turned 4 and was not ready for it. So, we shelved it and I brought it back out on a whim. He is taking off!
Bug’s drawing skills are really improving also. He drew of picture of Daddy in Afghanistan complete with a mountain, rocks, and a tent!
Since I have a feeling Bug will be reading by the end of summer, I am considering starting My Father’s World Kindergarten with him in the fall. I think it will be a good thing for him. Of course, if it’s not working out we can always shelve it until the following year. He’s an October baby, so technically shouldn’t start Kindergarten until the fall of 2014.
- Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
I had a special day out with Bug. We went to the Lego Block Party at our local library. He had a blast building a car out of legos. It was so good to get some one-on-one time with him. This kid deserves a medal. He has been the biggest helper and most awesome child during this deployment.
- My favorite thing this week was…
Teaching the kids how to play Candyland!
- My kiddos favorite thing this week was…
We got a sand and water table. Since I didn’t have any sand, we made cloud dough in it! The kids had a blast digging and building.
- Things I’m working on…
Being more intentional with the blog. I need to figure out a system that actually allows me to regularly write posts. It feels impossible right now.
- I’m grateful for…
My beautiful babies.
- I’m praying for…
The people of Oklahoma and of course, my husband and his unit in Afghanistan.
- I rewarded my kids this week by…
Making dirt cups. Such a yummy dessert, although it’s not healthy at all!

Thank you for linking with Collage Friday… I am new to your site and will be back often. Your children are beautiful – I know it’s so tiring when they are so little, but I miss having little ones!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you so much, Mary!
The “Lego Block Party” at the library sounds like a lot of fun. I have little boys that love legos too!
I have several friends who have used MFW K, and they all said it is a great, gentle K program, especially for kids that are on the young end of the K age range, so I bet it will be a great fit for you guys!
Hi Kristen! Thanks for the encouragement! I hope we love MFW K!
