Christmas is just around the corner, and you know what that means? So is crafting season! All of my kids adore arts and crafts, so when we got the opportunity to try out Kwik Stix and make these fun paper plate Christmas trees, we were so excited! I can’t wait to show you how we made this super cute craft and tell you all about Kwik Stix and how you can use them for your Christmas activities this year.
Paper Plate Christmas Tree Craft
Sis decided she wanted to be the first one to make a Christmas tree craft. So she helped me gather up our materials. We used one paper plate, Kwik Stix, scissors, paper, and glue.
Sis used the dark green Kwik Stix to paint the paper plate. The Kwik Stix behave kind of like markers, but are actually tempera paint sticks that dry in just 90 seconds.
Here’s what her plate looked like as it was drying.
While the plate dried, Sis used more Kwik Stix to make her own ornaments. We cut these out, but you could also use stickers, pom poms, glitter, or whatever you have on hand to make your tree.
We cut the paper plate into three triangles.
We then assembled our Christmas tree. I used a little glue behind each piece to hold it together.
Once the glue was dry, we added our ornaments, and we used a red Kwik Stix to go along the edges to create a tinsel effect.
Here is our finished paper plate Christmas tree! I think it turned out so, so cute! These would make great crafts for your kids and then you could use them as decorations.
Kwik Stix have been so amazing in our homeschool. My daughter is especially artistic, and I find myself often saying “no” when she asks to paint. With Kwik Stix, she can paint without making a mess. We don’t need cups of water, paintbrushes, or even a smock, and she is free to create whatever she wants! Kwik Stix are solid tempera paint sticks that work great on wood, paper, canvas, cardboard, and many other crafting mediums.
I love that they are AP certified, so that means that they are safe for children because they are completely non-toxic.

This is an adorable craft! I love that the kiddos can choose how to decorate their tree. I’m saving this as a cold-weather craft for the holiday season. Thanks for sharing!
I love this! I’ve never heard of the paint sticks, but they’d be a huge hit with my preschooler!
Very interesting. I like this blog and I will look forward to reading more stuff.
