Preamble to the U.S. Constitution Copywork

One of the things I vividly remember memorizing while in school is the Preamble to the United States Constitution. Since we are planning to study the Constitution this year, I thought it would be a great time to have the kids work on reciting and memorizing the Preamble. So, I decided to create the Preamble to the United States Constitution copywork bundle and share here with anyone else who is interested!

The Preamble to the United States Constitution
“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
The Preamble is the introductory statement to the Constitution that explains the Constitution’s purpose and intent. Think of it like a summary of everything that will be included.

I designed my copywork bundle to work with all learners who are writing. There are three styles to choose from: Cursive, Primary Print Tracing, and Print. There are also blank notebook pages if you would like to use them in a different way.

Historic art is an important part of our homeschool, so I included a print of Howard Christy Chandler’s Scene at the Signing of the Constitution of the United States with each copywork pack.

You’ll also find QR codes for a Constitution unit study booklist, and a YouTube playlist with interesting videos you can use to further your study of the founding of the United States of America.
