It’s been a long time since I posted about a sensory activity here, but I just could not pass up this adorable shamrock sensory playdough! One of our absolute most favorite activities for the preschool set is playdough! I make my own playdough 80% of the time. My three year old frequently asks me to make a batch. It’s pretty easy to make.

Homemade Playdough Recipe
This is the best homemade playdough recipe. I usually always have all of the ingredients on hand except cream of tartar. Now, I make sure to always have the cream of tartar so that I can make playdough whenever my kids want it!
Ingredients:

1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup salt
2 Tablespoons cream of tartar
1 cup water
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
2-3 drops green food coloring

Directions:

1. Add the flour, salt and cream of tartar to a medium mixing bowl. Whisk to combine and set aside.

2. Add the water and oil to a medium saucepan. Heat until boiling and then remove from heat.

3. Stir in the green food coloring.

4. Add the flour mixture, stirring continuously until a large lump of dough forms.

5. Remove dough from saucepan and place on a flat work surface. Knead the playdough for 5 minutes to make it soft and pliable.
6. Store in an airtight container or ziploc bag for up to one month.
