There’s just something about the warm breezes and longer days that make me want to clean and brighten the house. Today I’m sharing all about spring homemaking and the things you can do this spring to make your home feel fresh!
Spring Decluttering
Let’s start with spring decluttering. I have a whole house decluttering checklist that you can check out, or an entire 30 Day Declutter kit to get you started.
I prefer to choose one small area to work on at a time. Last weekend I completely decluttered our cup cabinet. It was bursting at the seams with a lot of cups we no longer use, so I got rid of those. I also reorganized our water bottles. I love this water bottle organizer for the cabinet.
Spring Cleaning
Of course spring is the perfect time for spring cleaning! I use my Spring Cleaning Planner to organize all of my spring cleaning plans. I love how the checklist keeps me organized.
Now is a great time to deep clean some of the spaces that you may often neglect. I like to pull my stove and refrigerator out and clean underneath them. You’d be surprised at some of the things you’ll find! Here are my favorite spring cleaning supplies.
If you’re home during the day, I really suggest the practice of airing out the house. Even if only for 15 minutes, there’s nothing quite like fresh air moving through the house to take away any stinky odors and allow the space to breathe!
Adding Spring Touches
Spring is such a fun time to decorate. When Easter rolls around, I love adding bright touches to the house like when I did this farmhouse theme spring decor. How I decorate has changed over the years, and the amount I decorate definitely changes with each home we live in, but there’s nothing like adding a fresh bouquet of spring flowers to a space to breathe new life into it!
Spring Front Porch
Since the house we live in right now has limited space, my favorite spot to decorate has definitely been the small front porch.
