This is the third year in a row I’m buying for my baby’s first Christmas. I’ve really thought about what would be great for my baby. I want to purchase him practical gifts. You know, the things he will actually use. I decided to put together a super fun round up of the very best gifts for baby’s first Christmas. Use this gift guide to buy your baby a couple of fun gifts for under the tree, and also for his first stocking!
Baby’s First Christmas Gift Guide
How cute is this walker? If your baby is ready to start pushing a toy around, this would make a great option. There’s a xylophone on it, and it’s made out of wood, so it’s more durable than plastic.
Melissa and Doug Rainbow Stacker
We have always made sure our babies have had a rainbow stacker to play with. This one is wooden, so it should last longer than the plastic versions, and it has more pieces!
I always make sure my babies have an activity gym. They love to lay on them and look at all of the pretty colors. They are also great for tummy time!
We bought a Scout and a Violet for my oldest two children, and those puppies have been passed down to each of my children. They enjoy the soothing bedtime music the puppy plays, plus there are other fun activities that the babies enjoy.
Most babies love wooden activity cubes. They can use them to practice standing, they can play with the beads, and this one even has a tic-tac-toe board.
Rocking toys are classic for little ones. Our son’s theme was foxes, so this fox rocker is just perfect.
Don’t miss the opportunity to stock your baby’s shelves with good, quality literature. Board books are perfect for babies.
You can’t forget clothes! This wearable blanket is adorable.

Stocking Stuffers for Baby’s First Christmas
Teethers are great stocking stuffers. We like these wooden teethers to soothe sore gums.
For older babies, put sippy cups in their stockings. We really like the 360 sippy cups.
If your baby takes a paci, add some pacifier clips to his stocking.
Soft, interactive baby books make great toys. I like to let my babies play with them in the car seat.
Thanks for compiling this list. One of the gifts I give babies under a year is diapers. Very practical and since they can’t open the present if they are very young they don’t care much. I’ve also give board books, a small toy, and clothes.
Love the My Pal Violet or Scout. I find them an adorable and perfect gift for this Christmas. Thank you for sharing this. It’s a lovely list.
