Every time I decide to make lesson plans to teach my younger kids, I reach for some of my favorite preschool themes and activities. Having a particular theme in mind is really helpful in pulling together a cohesive plan that the kids will enjoy. Today I’m going to share with you my bird themed preschool activities and lesson plans. Birds are so fun to learn about with young children. If we just open our eyes and pay attention, we can see so many of these feathered friends in our own backyards!

I’m making this lesson plan on birds based on my method of making preschool lesson plans. I always include songs, math activities, literacy activities, fine and gross motor activities, art, sensory ideas, books, and snacks. I find that all of these items can be divided up over the course of a week for a fun lesson plan!
