Every year December rolls around and I set aside our usual history and science lessons and opt for Christmas school! Christmas school has certainly evolved with our family over the years. You can see our Christmas school activities way back when we first started homeschooling. This year I opted for simplicity. I love that as homeschoolers we have that freedom. Let me show you what we are doing this year, and give you some great ideas for different age groups!
Christmas Homeschool Morning Time

We are using our Christmas Morning Time Menu Printables this year for morning time. I love the simplicity of our morning time menu printables.
We have two Christmas carols that we are singing from the morning time menu pack, plus three lovely pieces of art to enjoy. I think these are my favorite morning time menu pages yet! Of course, we have a Christmas poem, a Bible verse, and all of the great morning time menu pages.

Christmas School Activities
This year we are actually doing A Christmas Carol Exploration from Pambarnhill.com. I got this one for free after listening to her podcast. The Exploration is part of the Wonder Study, and includes art, nature study, and creative projects. I love that it incorporates activities for all of my kids from my toddler to my teenagers.
So far, we have learned about Christmas traditions that began during the Victorian Era, we’ve done a 12 Days of Christmas math problem, learned about Christmas crackers, explored Scrooge’s London, looked at the original artwork in A Christmas Carol, and learned about different breeds of geese. It’s been super interesting!
If you’d like to take a closer look at the morning time menu printables or A Christmas Carol Exploration, check out my YouTube video!

We also really enjoy doing puzzles together as a family, so I picked up this National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation puzzle.
Christmas School for Preschoolers and Kindergartners
I have a little preschooler and she loves to be included in Christmas school. She does what she can along with us, but she also loves to have her own activities.

One of my absolute most favorite products in the shop are our Nativity printables for preschoolers. They are just so beautiful! My preschoolers love the do-a-dot pages, plus the gorgeous pieces to build their own nativity scene.

The nativity I-spy printable is a lot of fun, too! You can grab this printable in the shop, along with the Nativity Memory Match game, and the Nativity Three-Part cards.

My preschool and kindergarten lesson plans are always a big hit. Our ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas lesson plans and printables include a week’s worth of learning fun for littles! There are all sorts of great activities to do, and a yummy recipe included, too!
Free Christmas Printables
We do have some freebies for Christmas school in the shop, too!

You can snag our free Christmas coloring pages to give the kids something to do for a while. We have color-by-number pages, as well as regular coloring pages, too!

We also have free printable nativity puppets if you want the kids to act out the Christmas story!
Christmas Handicrafts
We love making handicrafts for Christmas gifts. This year we are keeping it simple with rolled beeswax candles, an orange garland, and hand-painted Christmas cards.

We’ve done DIY beeswax candles several years in a row. We are using this kit this year. This has to be one of the easiest handicrafts we do. Even my youngest loves to roll candles.

We’ve also made a lovely orange garland in the past, and this year it’s time to make a new one!
We are planning to look up some watercolor tutorials to make our Christmas cards, which is so exciting!
Christmas Books
Finally, we are just reading lots of great Christmas picture books together. You’ll definitely want to check out my list of favorite Christmas books for kids!

What are you doing for Christmas school this year?
