I have shared many amazing preschool book lists here on the blog over the years, but I recently realized I have not shared our favorite alphabet books for preschool here yet! ABC books are some of my favorite books to read to my littles. In fact, I love them so much I have several on my shelf permanently. Alphabet books are great for teaching the letters of the alphabet, and many are just plain fun to read!

Our Favorite Alphabet Books

Let’s talk about our very favorite ABC books! One of my favorite things to do with my kids is curl up with a good book. If it’s a silly book that I can present in a fun way, that’s even better!

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom – My kids absolutely love watching all of the lowercase letters race to the top of the coconut tree. Of course, there’s a bit of a traffic jam and the upper case letters must come to the rescue!

The ABC Bunny – This book is one of my middle son’s favorite books ever. I have so enjoyed reading this with him. The illustrations are in black and white, but the fun rhymes make kids want you to read the book over and over again.

LMNO Peas – The silly pea characters take us on a fun adventure through the alphabet with rhyming text and a look at a wide variety of interests, hobbies, and careers that make the world go round!

Museum ABC – This book is so unique in that you get to show your child real pieces of artwork based on each letter of the alphabet. Children will see how each object may be in the same category, but look so different!

The Best Alphabet Books

I have found that the best alphabet books are often very simple with engaging photos and a fun story. My kids also really love when the text rhymes!
