I announced in my 35 week pregnancy journal that we are facing deployment. In my mind, I have gone back and forth over whether or not I should write about what we are going through. I’ve prayed about it, and I decided that I HAVE to write about this. Deployment is too big to not write about,  so  this is our deployment story.

I know the goal of Simple Living Mama is to give readers ideas on simplifying life and living a richer, fuller life, but this blog is a reflection of the lives of my family members, too. I will still post about homemaking, homeschooling, and all of the other things I do around here as a mama and a wife, but occasionally I will post about how we are coping with this deployment. This series will run as long as the deployment runs. I want to share with you our goodbyes and our homecoming. I want to express my emotions and write about how we are helping our kids get through.

Please keep in mind there are things I’m not allowed to talk about on the Internet. Please do not be offended if I don’t answer certain questions you may have.

You’re welcome to stick around while I write about our deployment journey!

  1. My husband too is in the military and is due for a deployment at some point. As the FRG Leader of his group and long time army wife, I would caution you to not give too much information. The internet can be a not-so-nice-place, and people know when you are going to be alone may not be a good idea. Be very, very careful as to what you post and don’t add anything that would give undesireables ideas.. just a word of caution.
